Port Arlington

Here are a few shots that we took when we nipped down to Port Arlington on the Bellarine Peninsula a few weekends ago. As you can see, it was a clear and sunny day which meant that we had stunning views of Port Philip bay and could see all the way across to the You Yangs (mountains) on the opposite side.

Port Arlington is a popular little holiday resort with people from Melbourne and Geelong and we really enjoyed taking a walk along the beach and the pier and taking in the sea air. This is another nice little corner of the region which we've discovered recently, we especially enjoyed the drive down from Geelong, between all the vineyards and wineries... we'll definitely be returning for an ice cream over the summer!

His & Hers

His & Hers

Koala Ken & The Brisbane Ranges

It has been so long since I last posted on here... I honestly don't know where the weeks are going at the moment, they're absolutely flying by! We have been really busy buying things for our house over the last few weeks, which has been fun, if a little expensive...anyway it's all starting to pay off as it really is starting to feel like a home to us now. You can check out some photos of it over on Cathryn's blog if you fancy taking a look.

Despite all of the furniture buying/building that we have been doing, we have still made a point of getting out and about when we can. About 4 or 5 weeks ago we decided to take a drive up to the Brisbane Ranges, a nature reserve/national park which is about 45 minutes from Geelong. The drive there was beautiful, the countryside and scenery really reminded us both of the UK and France in a strange way, it was really lush and green. Anyway, we headed up there with the sole intention of trying to spot a Koala...and guess what, we saw one!!! Well Cathryn did, and she named him Koala Ken! He was absolutely gorgeous and seemed to be more fascinated in us than we were in him. We were so lucky to spot him and felt privileged to have been able to watch him in his natural habitat.

We are hoping to take Cathryn's Mum and Dad up to the ranges when they come to visit us next month, whether or not we will be lucky enough to spot 'Ken' or any of his family remains to be seen...
