CATHRYN & ALEX'S AUSTRALIAN ROAD TRIP | PART SIX, TIN CAN BAY, BUNDABERG & AIRLIE BEACH | PERSONAL

I'm really, really enjoying looking back through these photographs and remembering all of the amazing experiences we had and the things we saw along the way. Remembering the freedom we felt, the only constraint we had being that we had to be in Cairns to catch a plane on a certain date...other than that, we could go wherever we wanted, however quickly or slowly as we wanted to.

Looking back through this post, I can remember just how excited Cathryn was at the prospect of seeing dolphins, let alone how elated she was once she had fed one by hand at the Barnacles Dolphin Centre in Tin Can Bay. I can also remember us sitting back and relaxing in the van as mile and mile of glorious scenery rolled past the windows beside us, constantly changing the further north we drove.

Arriving at Airlie Beach we were disappointed to find out that we couldn't get a spot on one of the Whitsunday cruises for a couple of days. In hindsight this turned out to be a blessing, we had seen and done so much everyday that we really enjoyed having a day and a half to just chill and soak up some sun, whilst spotting turtles swimming in the bay.

I can't wait to post the next part of the trip, our visit to Whitehaven Beach and the Whitsundays! It was the highlight of the whole journey for me and I think you'll understand why when you see the photos...
